City FC fall news

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

As the coaches and staff prepare for the fall season, be sure to look out for them at a booth at the Adams Morgan Day Festival (http://www.adamsmorgandayfestival.com) on September 13th.  This is your opportunity to find out more about City FC, and to get involved as a player and/or volunteer.

City FC Gears Up For Fall Season

In response to the need for shoes for its youth soccer players, City FC reached out to the U.S. Soccer Foundation and EuroSport (www.soccer.com).  Sarah Pickens, Community Outreach & Development Coordinator for the U.S. Soccer Foundation, facilitated the donation of shoes to City FC  This initiative, Boot Camp, will provide City FC players with proper soccer shoes.

Off the Soccer Field City FC Notes

The dedicated City FC coaches are taking time off the field to enhance their coaching skills.  Dan Driscoll, Roy Kelly, and Eben Levy have all recently earned additional coaching certifications.  [insert additional details.]

Also of note for the coaching staff is that Dan Driscoll has been selected as the head coach for the soccer team at Gallaudet University (www.gallaudetathletics.com), and Roy Kelly will be heading up the soccer program at [insert name].  City FC congratulates both Driscoll and Kelly, and is thankful that they will continue to dedicate their time and energy to DC area youth on the soccer fields this fall.

City FC Welcomes Two Fall Interns

City FC is continually working to expand, and provide more opportunities for DC area youth on the soccer fields.  This fall, City FC will welcome two interns, Sam Dunston, and David [insert last name].  Both, dedicated to spreading the mission of City FC, will be involved in special projects, including fundraising initiatives.  This will be a great opportunity for Dunston and XX to devote their energy to City FC, and for City FC to be on the receiving end of their forthcoming contributions both on and off the soccer fields.

City Football Club (“City FC”), a program of DC Stoddert Soccer, was established in 2007 to provide District youth with a curriculum combining excellent soccer coaching and first-rate mentorship and college preparation. City FC is organized exclusively for charitable purposes as an educational non-profit. Its objective is to bring together the City’s youth for educational and recreational opportunities, including but not limited to soccer.
